Strengths

What it's the best tool for

  • Improved product recontextualization: placing a product into a new scene
  • Image generation and editing in one model
  • 1K, 2K and 4K resolutions
  • Aspect ratios from 1:8 to 8:1, including 4:1 and 1:4
  • Up to 14 reference images in one request
  • Crisp in-image text: lettering, logos and headlines
Limitations

When to reach for something else

  • The model outputs still images only, with no video or audio
  • At most 14 reference images per request
  • Even with crisp text, long lettering is worth proofreading before you publish
  • If you need the look of a specific earlier version, pick it separately: older versions remain available

More about Nano Banana 2.1

Nano Banana 2.1: Google's Newest Image Model

Nano Banana 2.1 is the latest model in Google's Nano Banana line, a Flash-tier image model from the Gemini family. It succeeds Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro, and the whole family now lives on this page. Run Nano Banana 2.1 in your browser on NetRoom.

What is new in 2.1

The headline improvement is product recontextualization. Upload a photo of an item and describe where it should end up: on a marble counter, in an interior, outdoors or in a studio setup. The goal is for the item to look like part of the new scene rather than pasted onto a backdrop.

Capabilities

Generation and editing. One model creates images from scratch and edits existing ones from a text description. Resolutions available are 1K, 2K and 4K.

Many frame shapes. Aspect ratios range from 1:8 to 8:1, including 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, 4:3, 3:4, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9, 21:9, 4:1 and 1:4. Banners, vertical stories and long narrow strips all work.

Up to 14 references. You can pass up to 14 reference images: a product, a character, a style or a composition.

Text in images. Lettering, logos and headlines come out crisp, which suits packaging, posters and ad creative.

The Nano Banana family on one page

Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana and Nano Banana 2 Lite now point to this page and are listed in its versions table. Older versions remain available on NetRoom: if you want a result you already know, you can pick that version in the model list.

How to write the prompt

For a product scene, name the item, the surface, the light and the depth of field. If the image needs lettering, state the exact word and set the color and style of the letters separately. For edits, upload the source picture and describe only what should change, leaving the rest as it is.

What to use it for

Marketplace product cards, ad creative, covers and thumbnails, lookbooks, posters and any scene that needs readable text. Try Nano Banana 2.1 on NetRoom.
